The predecessor of Wenhua College- "Huazhong University of Science and Technology Wenhua College" is an ordinary full-time university approved by the Ministry of Education in May 2003. It is jointly organized by Wuhan Midland Real Estate Co., Ltd. and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In May 2014, the Ministry of Education approved the conversion of the school to an independent private general undergraduate school and renamed it "Wenhua College".
