The Blas Pascal University (UBP) places its official beginning on December 21, 1990. On that date, the National Executive Power authorized its operation on a provisional basis. However, the gestational origin of the institution dates back ten years before, linked to the emergence of the Pascal Higher Institute (ISP), a tertiary level establishment incorporated into Official Education.
The ISP began its activities in March 1980, promoted by a group of teachers from Córdoba with an educational proposal based on innovative curricular content. The careers that made up its first educational offer belonged to the area of ??Computer Science, Mathematics and Administration. At that time, the environment lacked enough Higher Level institutions that offered training in these disciplines, considered essential to face technological and productive transformations.
