Shanxi Institute of Engineering and Technology is located in Yangquan, the “first city created by the Communist Party of China”. It is located at the gateway of Sanjin, the key point of Shanxi and Hebei, and is located in the middle of Taiyuan and Shijiazhuang. It is the first batch of pilot universities in Shanxi Province to transform to application. The college was founded in September 1984. It was originally named as the Yangquan Coal College of Shanxi Institute of Mining and Technology. In 1986, it was renamed Yangquan Coal College. In 2001, it was listed as Yangquan College of Taiyuan University of Technology and began to recruit undergraduates. On May 27, 2014, the Shanxi Institute of Engineering and Technology was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education, which is a public full-time general undergraduate college.
