The Ruppin Academic Center, and by its original name Rufin College, was founded in 1949 with the aim of providing managerial education to the agricultural, kibbutz and moshavim economy in Israel. In 1975, the college received for the first time a permit to open an academic curriculum from the Council for Higher Education. The approval of the council at the time laid the foundations that led to the establishment of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Management in 1996. In 1981, the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Yitzhak Navon and the Minister of Education, Mr. Zevulun Hamer, confirmed in their signature that students studying at Ruppin Economics and Administration since 1979 were eligible. In 1993, the Department of Economics and Accounting was established, which was officially recognized by the MLAG in 1994. In 1997, the Bachelor of Business Administration program was established and recognized.
