About Us

Ningxia Normal University is located in Guyuan City, a historical city under the Liupan Mountain in southern Ningxia. It is under the management of the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and is the only normal undergraduate college in Ningxia.

The predecessor of the school was Liupanshan University established in 1975. Hu Qili, former vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and then deputy secretary of the Guyuan Prefectural Committee, served as the leader of the preparatory group of Liupanshan University and the leader of the party’s core leading group. In 1978, the State Council approved the establishment of Guyuan Teachers College on the basis of Liupanshan University. In 1994, it was renamed Guyuan Teachers College. In 2006, it was renamed Ningxia Teachers College with the approval of the Ministry of Education and upgraded to an undergraduate college. In 2012, he obtained the postgraduate training qualification for the master of education professional degree. In 2013, it passed the qualification evaluation of undergraduate teaching by the Ministry of Education, and became the first public-funded education pilot school for normal students in Ningxia in 2013. In 2016, it became the first batch of pilot universities for overall application transformation in Ningxia, and the autonomous region's "first-class" discipline construction unit in the autonomous region. In 2018, it was approved as a master's degree granting unit, a pilot school for high-level undergraduate education in the autonomous region, a key construction unit of the autonomous region's "Internet + education", and a pilot school for the construction of artificial intelligence boosting teachers in the autonomous region. In 2019, he successfully accepted the review and evaluation of the undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education. The school is a member unit of the "Three North" area of ??the cooperative meeting of higher normal colleges, a member unit of the joint meeting of new local undergraduate colleges across the country, and a member unit of the "Belt and Road" college alliance.
