On July 20, 1978, the Higher Education Institute of Cáceres was created, which bears in its history the mark of being born in the countryside. Based on Law No. 703, Municipal Decree No. 190 was published, creating the Higher Education Institute of Cáceres (IESC), linked to the Municipal Secretary of Education and Social Assistance, with the goal of promoting higher education and research. It starts to function as Municipal Municipal Entity on August 15 of the same year.
Through Federal Decree No. 89,719, of May 30, 1984, the courses taught by the Institute were authorized. In 1985, with State Law No. 4,960, of December 19, the Executive Branch instituted the Centro Universitário de Cáceres Foundation (FUCUC), an autonomous foundational entity, linked to the Department of Education and Culture of the State of Mato Grosso, which aims to promote research and study of the different branches of knowledge and scientific, technical and cultural dissemination.
