Changzhi University (Changzhi University) was founded in 1958, formerly known as Jindongnan Teachers College. In 2004, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to a comprehensive full-time general undergraduate university. It is a bachelor's degree granting unit. Since 2012, it has jointly trained master students with Shanxi Normal University , In 2018, it was approved as a construction unit with the right to grant master's degree.
The school is located in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, the ancient city of Shangdang, the birthplace of the Taihang Spirit. It covers an area of ??337,000 square meters with a school building area of ??306,000 square meters. The college is divided into two campuses, north and south, with an orderly layout and shaded trees, presenting a fresh, quiet, civilized and harmonious garden environment. In addition, in August 2003, the Changzhi Municipal Government used the "meeting minutes [2003] 7 times" as the college’s planned construction area of ??250 acres on the north side of the north campus. In January 2019, it planned 1,000 acres around the Zhangze Lake National Urban Wetland Park in Changzhi City. The remaining acres of land are used for the construction of the new campus of the college.
